This is not a 'real' football. It is a drill football FOR PRACTICE purposes. The soft foam POOF football is the equivalent of a NERF football that you might throw in the yard and it's very lightweight. Learning to kick this football can help beginners learn the fundamentals of proper foot contact without the frustration that can come in the early stages of kicking with the heaviness of a 'real' football.

For kickers learning proper kicking rotation or beginners learning to simply kick a football end over end, I keep a couple of POOF footballs in my kicking bag during private lesson sessions. Though the POOF footballs in my bag are neon colors, I found this POOF Pro Gold version which is brown and white, like a real football!
